What does P.A.D.R.E.S. stand for?  Parents Advancing Readiness for Educational Success program.  The objectives for this program are:
  • to provide families with knowledge, tools and skills to help their children succeed in school and life
  • to encourage parents and their children to be active members of the school and community with high expectations for themselves
  • to establish work groups among parents
  • to train identified parents to become trainers of other parents.
Research shows that students whose parents are involved in education are more likely to: complete homework, attend school regularly, earn higher grades and test scores, pass their classes, earn credits and be promoted, graduate and go on to further education.  This program consists of five learning sessions that will provide parents with the knowledge, tools, and skills to help their children succeed in school and in life.  Grimes Elementary is very excited about being able to offer this program and look forward to seeing you at the meetings.
